Ten Upcoming Sequels That I Need Now

If you ever wonder, "Abby, why do you read so many backlogged books?"  This is why. (Although I read a lot more new releases now than I used to.)  Because I read books, and then I have to WAIT for the SEQUEL. UGH.

It's so much easier on my sanity to just binge a series that's already fully published (Blades of Acktar, for example).  And really, this problem has only arisen because I've been reading such dang good books lately.  And most of them are by my friends.  Which makes me so proud. And it also means that I can pester them about the books until they're out.  (I won't... but I could... if I wanted to...)

So today, we're going to talk about ten sequels that are not yet published, but I want NOW.

Quick note: I'm going to put descriptions for these books (if they have them) so that if you've read them like me, you can get as excited as I am.  As they may be spoiler-y, I just thought I should let you know.

1. The Anamnesis - Adelaide Thorne {The Whitewashed Trilogy #3}

This book has no cover, it has no description, it's not even on Goodreads, but I'm SO excited for it.  I just finished bingeing the first two books in the series and they're SO. GOOD.  I need to know what happens next.  That ending was rude.  Like... almost Rick Riordan level rude.  Yeah.

2. Martin Legacy - Abigayle Claire {Martin Generations #2}

I read the first book in May and I absolutely loved it.  I can't wait for this sequel and to see where it takes Gemma and the Martin family.  I know it's going to be great.

Synopsis:
Gemma Ebworthy is a struggling single mother—but not for much longer. Engaged to a kind-hearted farmer boy, her turbulent life is looking more stable at last, but troubles are still on the horizon. As their efforts to build a legacy for their unique family are constantly under siege, Gemma must decide where her worth truly lies.
Farris cherishes the only life he’s ever known, even though he feels more called to the mission field than his adoptive father’s fields. Growing up among extended family and in the Christian faith, he’s always had a firm foundation.
Yet when the past Gemma is so ashamed of—the one Farris can’t even remember—comes calling again, the life they’ve built is put to the test. For it to remain standing, Gemma is going to have to silence her demons once and for all. But this time, she’s not alone.

3. A Prayer Unanswered - Kellyn Roth {The Chronicles of Alice & Ivy #5}

This is one of my favorite series, and I'm so looking forward to seeing where Alice's life takes her in the rest of the series. (Side shout-out to Only a Mother, which is a novella companion that I'm also super stoked for.)  (Also, Kellyn, if you hurt my sweet boy Peter, i'm going to be very upset. that's all.)

Synopsis:
With her world is set adrift, how can she hold on?
When Alice followed her husband to America, she never expected to miss England and her family as much as she did. However, if her secret wish and prayer come true, she believes she can find comfort and happiness.
An unexpected tragedy flings Alice out of control, and her perfect life is lit aflame. Her feeble attempts to pull her world together all lead to inevitable failure. The harder she fights, the worse life becomes, so she lets go.
In a world full of spinning variables and agony beyond anything Alice has ever experienced, can she give her life to the God who loves her?

4. Midnight's Curse - Tricia Mingerink {Beyond the Tales #2}
45776581
LOOK. AT THIS COVER. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL.
I've been anticipating more books in this series since I read the first one in May of last year. I wasn't sure if Tricia was planning more, but I'm SO glad she did/is.  This is a Cinderella retelling, and I just know it's going to be amazing.  Also that cover. Can I mention it again?

Synopsis:
High King Alexander rules the Seven Kingdoms of Tallahatchia—a divided nation on the brink of yet another war. When an invitation arrives from the king of Pohatomie, Alex knows it must be a trap, but could it also be the chance to unite the kingdoms he has been waiting for?
Daemyn Rand has lived a hundred years, served an arrogant prince, fallen in love with a princess, and lost himself somewhere along the way. He has already died for his loyalty. Will standing at the high king’s side cost him his one chance to truly live?
Elara Ashen is a lowly, miserable servant. All she wants is to spend even one night in a fancy dress dancing with the high king. When she is offered a pair of glass slippers, it seems that all her dreams have come true.
But dreams have a price, and gifts can be curses in disguise. What will it cost to stop this curse from tearing Tallahatchia apart yet again?
Fairy tales meet the Appalachian Mountains in this adventurous fantasy retelling of the classic Cinderella story.

5. Barefoot Memories - Taylor Bennett {Tradewinds #3}

Another sequel that has no cover and no description but I am highly anticipating! It's not supposed to come out until 2020. How am I supposed to make it until then? *melts into puddle of melting shave ice*

6. The Tyrant's Tomb - Rick Riordan {The Trials of Apollo #4}
28006109
The Burning Maze destroyed my heart, and I need to know what happens next.  Also we're going to Camp Jupiter. Which I'm so stoked about. Also look! Reyna! I can't wait to see her again!

Synopsis:
It's not easy being Apollo, especially when you've been turned into a human and banished from Olympus. On his path to restoring five ancient oracles and reclaiming his godly powers, Apollo (aka Lester Papadopoulos) has faced both triumphs and tragedies. Now his journey takes him to Camp Jupiter in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the Roman demigods are preparing for a desperate last stand against the evil Triumvirate of Roman emperors. Hazel, Reyna, Frank, Tyson, Ella, and many other old friends will need Apollo's aid to survive the onslaught. Unfortunately, the answer to their salvation lies in the forgotten tomb of a Roman ruler . . . someone even worse than the emperors Apollo has already faced.

7. My Calamity Jane - Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows {The Lady Janies #3}

The only synopsis on this is "The legendary Calamity Jane gets a better ending to her story" and just that has me excited.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, and I can't wait to see the ladies take on the Wild West!  Gonna be honest, though, the only experience I have with Calamity Jane is the musical... but I'm okay with that, tbh.

8. The Fire Keeper - J.C. Cervantes {The Storm Runner #2}
39894046
The first book was one of my favorite books from last year, so I am highly anticipating this sequel.  Also the cover looks really cool.  But is that a badger?  because it looks like a badger.  i'm sure it's supposed to be a bear or something but now I will never unsee a badger.

Synopsis:
Zane Obispo's new life on a beautiful secluded tropical island, complete with his family and closest friends, should be perfect. But he can't control his newfound fire skills yet (inherited from his father, the Maya god Hurakan); there's a painful rift between him and his dog ever since she became a hell hound; and he doesn't know what to do with his feelings for Brooks. One day he discovers that by writing the book about his misadventures with the Maya gods, he unintentionally put other godborn children at risk. Unless Zane can find the godborns before the gods do, they will be killed. To make matters worse, Zane learns that Hurakan is scheduled to be executed. Zane knows he must rescue him, no matter the cost. Can he accomplish both tasks without the gods detecting him, or will he end up a permanent resident of the underworld?
In this cleverly plotted sequel to The Storm Runner, the gang is back together again with spirited new characters, sneaky gods, unlikely alliances, and secrets darker than Zane could ever have imagined. Secrets that will change him forever.

9. A Matter of Curiosity - Nicki Chapelway {Return to Amar #2}

I absolutely adored the first book, so I can't wait for this one! The snark, the sass, the characters, the magic, I am very much looking forward to returning to Amar once again.  And finding out what happened because again, that ending.

10. The Perfect Christmas - Bell Renshaw {Winter, Montana #2}
37671834
It's been awhile since I visited Winter, and I can't wait to go back.  Bell writes the cutest Hallmark-channel style fluff and I love it so much.  Plus these two are already in a relationship when the book starts. Which is one of my faaavorite things. *heart eyes*

Synopsis:
Born and raised in Winter, Montana, Beau Bradley can’t imagine life anywhere else. During the holiday season his coffee shop, Mountain Grounds, is as busy as ever and now that his girlfriend is back in town, things finally seem to be lining up—until he gets a call that could change it all.
Ansley Strauss is back in Winter after a nine-month art intensive in Canada and she’s ready to celebrate the Christmas season in the tried and true Winter-style. There’s only one problem: her boyfriend lacks Christmas spirit. Her solution? Make this Christmas perfect to remind Beau just how special this time of year is.
Set on a course for ultimate Christmas joy, Ansley and Beau find that life doesn’t always work out the way they hope it will. Beau faces the reality that plans can’t account for everything and Ansley will have to come to the realization that no matter how perfect things are, it’s the imperfections in life that make it worth living.
It’s another Christmas in Winter, Montana where the coffee is always hot and the mistletoe beckons lovers to share a kiss.

And there you have it!  If anyone wants to time travel into the future and snag these for me, that'd be great, thanks.

What's a sequel you're anticipating?  Let me know in a comment below!
